A very feasible device for drying hose has been perfected by the American Hose Drier company, of Lebanon. Pa. It is formed as a box seat, and is placed in the fire station along one of the walls, so that it is no obstruction. The hose is drawn into this box on shelves, and is dried by hot air in a comparatively short time. The desirability of each fire station being provided with such a convenient device is apparent, as it does away with the wear on hose and couplings when suspended in towers, as well as the great saving in labor and expense caused by drying hose in this antiquated fashion. The illustration herewith shows the drier placed in a fire station.
