Hutchinson Firemen Proud of New Motor

TYPE OF WEBB PUMPING ENGINE AT HUTCHINSON, KANS.

Our correspondent at Hutchinson, Kan., writes: “We recently received our two new Webb motors, and they are the finest in the State. One is a 40-horsepower six-cylinder pumping engine, and the other is a 70-horsepower, four cylinder combination chemical and hose wagon. Both are fully equipped with every facility for attacking a fire, including 1,200 feet of fire hose each. Unknown to any member of the department where the pumper is located, it recently made a run of 1¾ miles, laying 150 feet of hose and threw water in exactly 3 minutes and 31 seconds. With the exception of two blocks the run was over very rough dirt roads. We consider this a very good record considering that the car was new to us. Herewith we arc sending you a photograph of the car which did the stunt.”
