Illinois Tech Opens Hydraulic Laboratory
A newly equipped $30,000 hydraulics laboratory was opened at Illinois Institute of Technology on May 19, for use by students enrolled in fire protection and safety engineering courses. Research and testing are other uses to be made of the laboratory. It is located in the main building on the Illinois Tech campus.
According to Professor Gerald L. Maatman, director of the fire protection and safety engineering department, the addition of the laboratory represents another step in providing IIT with the most modem facilities possible for the education of prospective fire protection and safety engineers.
