“I don’t think there is any more important work in which any of our citizens are engaged than that in which you boys arc engaged,” said Governor James P. Goodrich to members of the Indiana Firemen’s Association at their annual meeting in Indianapolis recently. “In this day and generation, we are talking a good deal about conservation; the conservation of our coal production, our other resources, and water power, and you men are engaged in the business of conserving property. In the State of Indiana, we are wasting from five to seven millions of dollars in property every year through fire. Much of that can be prevented.”
