Indiana State Fire Marshal Resigns
Newman T. Miller, state fire marshal of Indiana and recently reappointed for the position, tendered his resignation effective October 1 so that he could re-enter the practice of law. Mr. Miller has been connected with the fire marshal’s office for more than eight years; he was appointed marshal April 14, 1921, and for four years previous to that was attorney for the fire marshal’s department.
New Tank For Sioux City, Ia.—Construction has started on the erection of a steel tower for the 300,000 gallon tank for the water works of Sioux City, Ia. A 16-inch main is being laid from the booster station to the site of the new tank.
Engineer Named For Atlanta, Ga.—Atlanta, Ga., has named H. F. Weideman, a member of the engineering firm of Solomon and Norcross as consulting engineer of the city water works to succeed the late Paul Norcross who lost his life in the Norman steamship disaster on the Mississippi river.
