Information as to Change from Steam to Electricity
The water department of a large city in the eastern part of New York State is very anxious to hear from cities and towns which have recently changed the motive power of their water works pumps from steam to electricity and as to the relative economy of the two systems of propulsion. They also wish to know the cost of making the change from steam to electricity. They are especially desirous of learning from those departments which have recently made this change the actual expense that such a turning-over involves and whether the outlay is warranted by the resulting economy of the change. Kindly address Thomas H. See, Commissioner of Public Works, Yonkers, N. Y., or send communication to FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING and they will be forwarded.
