Invalid Marker Pays Off

When fire swept a Troy, N. Y., building on January 15, routing 23 occupants including 16 children, two police officers rescued an invalid 85-year-old woman before arrival of the fire department.

Patrolman Thomas Kennedy and offduty Patrolman Thomas Maloney, a passer-by, searched for and removed the elderly lady in a wheel chair after noting the common fire service rescue marker at the front door of the building.
