Iron Mountain Department to be Motorized

The city of Iron Mountain, Mich., has recently made heavy investments in motor apparatus and intends to motorize the whole department. A truck recently purchased was driven from Chicago, Ill., to Iron Mountain as a test on the machinery. A number of bad roads were encountered by the driver in making the trip, but the machine withstood the test well. It is a White truck of 60-horsepower, and equipped with Goodrich solid truck tires. Chief L. LaLonde, of Iron Mountain fire department, accompanied the truck, and Joseph Cornelius, road representative of the White Motor Company, drove the truck. I. E. Clark, of the Goodrich Rubber Company, and Mr. Woodcock, of the White company, accompanied the truck. The Lucia Brothers Motor Company represent the White company in Iron Mountain. While passing through the city of Green Bay, Wis., Mayor Hall, Councilmen Farrell and Green and Fire Chief Sweeney inspected it.
