ISFSI First: FDIC 2011 To Function As “Home Conference”

FDIC 2011 will mark the first time FDIC will serve as “home conference” for theInternational Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI), according to ISFSI’s Leigh Hubbard. A schedule of events marks this special occasion.
▪ Monday, March 21.  ISFSI will host an 8-hour workshop on its newly launched National Fire Protection Association 1403 Live Fire Training Program with Credential. Those who complete this classroom component and complete their practicals will receive the 1403 Credential. The credential is the first of its kind and is good for three years. ISFSI will host approximately eight of these classes this year, credentialing more than 200 live fire instructors.
Tuesday, March 22. ISFSI will host an 8-hour workshop on its Professional Development Credentialing Program, which is being launched at FDIC. Class participants will receive an in-depth orientation of the program and also several critical elements of educational credit toward the completion of the program. Two of the three levels of the credential will be released at FDIC
Tuesday Night, March 22, 6:00.p.m.-9:00 .p.m. ISFSI Social. Howl at the Moon, 20 East Georgia Street. ISFSI members and FDIC instructors are invited. Friday, March 25. ISFSI annual meeting at 1:00 p.m. in rooms 140-142. The agenda includes discussion of pertinent society business and induction of new board members. All firefighters, instructors, fire officers, and those aspiring to be are invited to join the ISFSI, the only international membership organization representing the interest of fire service instructors.
In addition, once again, the ISFSI will be conducting live podcasts from its booth and sending them to the Fire Engineering Web site, all of which will be posted on the show coverage page at The schedule will be posted at the ISFSI booth.   
ISFSI will also host a raffle for a set of Custom Turnout Gear, provided by Honeywell.  All proceeds of this raffle will be donated to the ISFSI Scholarship Fund.
