Jenkintown, Pa., Purchases Pumper
The fire department of Jenkintown, Pa., on October 14, received a new Hale 600-gallon triple combination pumper. The apparatus wais successfully tested on that date by the engineers of the Philadelphia Suburban Underwriters’ Association. At its first test it discharged 626 gallons at 123 pounds net pressure for the duration of two hours. At the second test with a duration of thirty minutes the appartus delivered 306 gallons at 203 pounds net pressure. At the third test, also thirty minutes. 234 gallons at 253 pounds net pressure. The pumper after having been accepted by the department has answered a number of alarms and has given 100 per cent, service. This apparatus it is claimed by the manufacturers, is really a standardized product.
