Jersey Fire Chiefs Meet

The first quarterly meeting of the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs’ Association was held at Medford Lakes, near Mt. Holly, N. J., on May 28. Over one hundred Chiefs were present.

The Treasurer reported improved financial condition of the Association and the Secretary stated that the membership was growing.

The three principal topics on the program were a talk on “General Fire Knowledge,” by Battalion Chief John J. Wilkinson of the Newark Fire Department; “Some High Lights on Fire Department Hydraulics,” by Fred Shepperd, Editor, FIRE ENGINEERING, and “The Teletype Fire Alarm System,” by Chief Green, of Morris Township, N. J.

The delegates were treated to a motor trip around the community of Medford Lakes and the local and neighboring Fire Departments put on a demonstration of water pumping, employing several pieces of apparatus of different makes.

The Pyrene Company demonstrated their new foam producing nozzle.

Chief Charles W. Greenfield, Arlington, N. J., is President of the Association.
