John C. Chase was born at Chester, N. H., in 1849. He received an academic education and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was assistant engineer on the
Manchester, N. H., waterworks construction, Bos ton waterworks and elevated railways in New York city; superintendent and engineer of the Clarendon Waterworks company. S. C.. was city surveyor; and was engaged in general engineering work, designing and constructing a system of waterworks and sewerage for the Atlantic Coast line. He was a member of the State board of health from 1893 to t897. Mr. Chase returned to Derry, N. H.; in 1897, and since then has been almost exclusively engaged in a manufacturing enterprise, although a regular attendant of the meetings of the Waterworks association.
