June Fire Losses
Estimated dollar losses caused by fires in the United States totaled 8164,045,000 in June, the National Insurance Actuarial and Statistical Association reported.
This was an increase of 32.3 percent over $123,986,000 for June 1966 and an increase of 14.6 percent over $143,152,000 for May 1967. The June 1967 figure includes a fire loss of $14,250,000 for a fire which destroyed a complex of textile plants at Rossville, Ga., on June 11.
Estimated fire losses were $914,532,000 for the first six months of 1967. compared to $749,897,000 in the like six months last year, an increase of 22 percent.
