Honor Guard Competition Chief Libby Liberatore Passes On

James “Libby” Liberatore, who had been in charge of the National Honor Guard competition as Chief Judge, has passed away at age 60.

He was a former chief of the Burlington Township (NJ) Fire Department. According to the department’s Web site, Libby devoted most of his adult life to emergency services by serving in several fire, EMS, and police capacities.

Viewings will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 6 and from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7 at the Beverly Road Fire Co., 1001 Beverly Road, Burlington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the fire station. Entombment will follow services in the Odd Fellow Cemetery, Route 130 and Beverly Road, Burlington.
