Lovell Joins Campbell
Homer Lovell, a former naval station fire chief, is now in charge of fire safety for the Campbell Industries in San Diego, builders of the Tuna and related craft.
Lovell, a part of the safety division, has instituted a fire research and fire protection improvement program covering all phases of production, creation of a company fire brigade and liaison with the San Diego Fire Department of which he was a former battalion chief.
He began his fire service career in 1931 in the San Diego Fire Department. He entered federal civil service as a fire inspector in 1955 and was promoted to United States Marine Corps Chief, Naval Station Fire Department. He retired from this post in 1962.
He is an active member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Fire Protection Association and numerous other statewide fire and safety organizations.
