MAINE STATE FIREMENS’ ASSOCIATION.

MAINE STATE FIREMENS’ ASSOCIATION.

The convention of the Maine State Firemen’s association was held at Bath, Me., on Tuesday and Wednesday last. There was a large attendance of delegates, quite a number being in uniform. The president was Chief Eldridge, of Portland. The proceedings were very interesting and the papers tead of an unusually high standard. Many visitors were present from fire departments outside of the State and the citizens of Bath vied with each other in showing attention and exercising hospitality to the strangers within their gates. The exhibits were many and the display first-class. Among the exhibitors were The Cornelius Callahan Company, H. K. Barnes,The Boston Belting Company—all of Boston, The American Eire Hose Company,of Chelsea, Mass., The Eureka Fire HoseCompany, and The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company, of New York. Their various specialties were universally admired. The second day of the convention was devoted to a grand parade, muster, and tournament. Owing to the late hour at which the account of the proceedings reached this office, a fuller account is postponed till next week.
