During the test of appliances at the recent convention of the International Association of Fire Engineers an incident occurred which is worthy of notice. When Milton H. Hart was preparing to exhibit his nozzle, he found he had a special thread on, which, while used by the New York fire department, would not fit that of Syracuse He was about to abandon his test when Chiefs Quigley and McAfee suggested using a Cooper hose jacket, which they had tested under similar circumstances. The jacket was clamped on and made a perfect connection of hose and nozzle—thereby obviating nil delay.
