Manual of Fire Loss Prevention
The Federal Fire Council has issued a Manual of Fire Loss Prevention which is National Bureau of Standards Handbook No. 19 and may be purchased at the office of the Superintendent of Documents, Washington, D. C., for twenty cents. This paper bound book contains 156 pages.
There are chapters on determining outlay for loss prevention; fire-resistance classification of building types; structural control of fire spread; means for egress; safeguarding common and special hazards; construction and equipment for protection of records; fire alarm and watchman supervisory equipment; standpipe and hose systems: maintenance of fire protection equipment; inspection of properties. and other important information.
The Federal Fire Council was organized to serve as a medium of contact between federal government departments on matters pertaining to fire prevention and protection. It consists of sixty representatives organized into four main committees.
