Medtec Named the Official Ambulance of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Medtec Ambulance Corporation, an Oshkosh Corporation [NYSE: OSK] companyhas been named the official ambulance of the 71st Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, that begins today and runs through August 14. Three Medtec® ambulances will be on duty to serve the more than 400,000 visitors and exhibitors expected during the legendary weeklong rally.
 
“We’re proud to have the Medtec brand associated with the famous and celebrated Sturgis Motorcycle Rally,” said Dan Peters, Pierce Manufacturing and Medtec Ambulance Corporation senior vice president of sales. “Medtec custom ambulances are used by fire rescue departments, hospitals and other emergency medical providers to respond to emergencies swiftly and with confidence; the EMTs on duty from the Sturgis Fire Department will be working with the industry’s finest.”

The three Medtec ambulances on duty at the Rally include a pair of Type I ambulances built on Ford F-450 chassis and a RediMedic™ by Medtec Type III ambulance built on a Ford E-350 chassis.
 
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally began in 1938 and has grown to become the largest motorcycle rally in the world. Sturgis, South Dakota, is located in Meade County and has a population of 6,627 but, during the Rally, the population nearly doubles that of the entire state.
