MICHIGAN STATE FIREMEN’S CONVENTION.
Arrangements are practically completed for the entertainment of the thirty-third annual convention of the Michigan State Firemen’s association, which will be held in Detroit on June 4, 3 and 6. Detroit offers many advantages for the entertainment of conventions. Among these are the following: The low rates of fare given by all railways; the increasing interest of the firemen of the State in the association; and the adoption of the proposed insurance feature. These promise to make this the largest and most successful meeting in the history of the association. Previoush to this year only two days were devoted to business ; but, owing to the necessity of not rushing important matters without being properly discussed, it was decided to extend the time to three days and to devote one half day to exhibits. The entertainment committee has procured shelter for any number of pieces of fire apparatus and is offering good inducements to exhibitors of all kinds of apparatus and appliances. Manufacturers desiring to orocure space should apply at once to Guy Northrop, ladder company No. 7, Cass and Amsterdam avenues, Detroit, Mich.
