Midwest Fire announced plans to sponsor a two-part classroom session taught by Dr. Richard B. Gasaway to benefit a fire department. Both volunteer and career firefighters are eligible to win and may fill out entry forms at Midwest Fire’s booth during the FDIC convention in Indianapolis at booth #4421.
The winning fire department will have until March 2015 to book the consecutive two-part classroom session. The morning session is on “Firefighter Safety: Mistakes & Best Practices.” The afternoon session will address “Flawed Situational Awareness: The Stealth Killer of First Responders.” While entries are accepted at the show, the winner will be announced at a later date. Dr. Gasaway will travel to the winning fire department to conduct the training.
“This is our first year at the show under new ownership and we wanted a high impact giveaway that reflected our belief and enthusiasm in community involvement,” said Chief Executive Officer Sarah Atchison. “Knowledge obtained in Dr. Gasaway’s class will keep the firefighters safe and potentially save lives in the community. This is the biggest show in the industry and we are very honored to have Dr. Gasaway to partner with us on this.”
