Milwaukee Fire Prevention Plaques Awarded

Thirty-three radio and TV stations, newspapers, business firms and charitable, religious and labor organizations were honored by the Milwaukee Fire Department at its Third Annual Fire Prevention Awards Program on February 4. The event, held in the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company’s Terminal Clubhouse, was attended by some 300 people who had been active in support of the fire department’s fire safety education program. Acting Mayor Martin E. Schreiber praised those present for their cooperation in helping to preserve Milwaukee’s fine fire safety record.

Fire Chief Edward E. Wischer in presenting the plaques expressed the gratitude of the entire community for the assistance given the fire department in getting the story of fire prevention to the public.
