Monroe, La., Has 3-Hour Fire

Fire which centered in the basement of a three-story furniture building in Monroe, La., gave the firemen a three-hour fight and resulted in the second most disastrous fire in the history of the city. Fire was discovered at 2 p. m. Heavy smoke entered the adjoining building, occupied by a newspaper, and hampered the work of getting out an edition.
