MONTANA FIREMEN AT HAVRE.

The annual convention of the State Firemen’s association of Montana, though slimly attended, eight towns not being represented, was productive of much good work. The whole trend of the discussions, in all of which the delegates freely participated, was towards the increase of knowledge on fire-service subjects among the firemen. The convention lasted four days, and the people of Havre provided in good shape for the comfort and entertainment of their visitors. The officers elected to same during the year 1907-08 were as follows: President, Chief J. C. ‘Clark. Big Timber: secretary. Harry Pornd, Big Timber; treasurer. J. C. Carnal, Havre. Next year’s convention will he held at Big Timber.

Marengo, Ill., having an outbreak of typhoid fever, the city officials have forbidden the use of nearly all the wells.
