Municipal Liability Law Upheld

A Circuit Court in Nashville, Tenn., has upheld the constitutionality of a 1967 state law requiring municipalities to pay court judgments against firemen and policemen. Reversing his previous decision, Judge James M. Swiggart ruled that the Nashville Metropolitan Government had the duty to defend a suit brought by an auto accident victim against the estate of a policeman killed in that accident.
