National Firemen’s Association

The 1013 convention of the National Firemen’s Association will be held in Chicago, August 28, 29, 30 of this year. The Hotel Sherman will be the headquarters. At this convention the insurance proposition will be taken up and a report received from the committee which has been working diligently on the matter since the Springfield convention, September, 1912. An annuity hill has been drawn up which is similar to the one used in European countries at present. Many other things in the shape of legislation will be threshed out at this convention, which should be of interest to every fireman in the United States.

National Firemen’s Association

Meets at Springfield, Ill., September 24, 25 and 26. Now is the time to plan to attend this meeting. The National Firemen’s Association in no way interferes with any other kindred association, its purposes being not only fire protection and fire prevention, but above all, the protection of firemen through proper pension laws and the protection of widows and orphans. The Springfield convention will be an important one from the fact that at this meeting matters of incorporation under an act of Congress and important insurance features will be before the convention, and every fireman should be interested in this subject and should see that a representative from his city and fire department should attend this meeting. Dates are so arranged that representatives to the International Association at Denver can, stop off at Springfield on their return and spend a day or two in the interests of their own future and those they love. Ample hotel accommodations are assured. Springfield, the home of the immortal Lincoln, is one of the most interesting cities on the continent. A cordial welcome is assured you. Chiefs of fire departments and men of the rank and file should see that representatives are at Springfield and help secure the legislation so much needed for their protection. Select your delegate now and make this the banner meeting. Springfield is centrally located and every comfort guaranteed. It is your interests we are working for. Hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you or your representative at that time. Don’t forget the dates. September 24 to 26. All railroads lead to Springfield, Ill. Respectfully yours,

THOS R. JOHNSTONE, President.

BERT FISHER. Secretary.
