The special committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers appointed to investigate the advisability of drafting a national water law consists of Messrs. F. H. Newell, director, United States Reclamation Service, chairman; George G, Anderson, consulting engineer, Denver; Charles W. Comstock, State engineer of Colorado; Clemens Herschei, hydraulic engineer, New York City; W. C. Hoad, professor of sanitary engineering, University of Michigan; Robert E. Horton, Albany, N. Y.; John H. Lewis, State engineer of Oregon; Charles D. Marx, professor of civil engineering, Leiand Stanford, Jr., University, California, and Gardner S, Williams, consulting engineer, Ann Arbor, Mich. AH are members of the society except Mr. Lewis, who is an associate member.
