NC Firefighters Injured in Apparatus Rollover

Two Mountain View (NC) Volunteer Fire Department firefighters were injured Friday when their fire apparatus rolled over while they were en route to an emergency call.

The accident occurred at around 7 p.m. local time when the 1,000-gallon water tanker the firefighters were driving lost control as it was going into a curve, according to a report from the Winston-Salem Journal (

In an effort to gain control over the vehicle, the driver turned sharply to the left. The truck skidded and rolled onto its right side, striking the guardrail and spinning clockwise.

The driver suffered minor injuries while another firefighter’s arm was injured. They were transported to an area medical facility. The truck sustained significant damage.
