Nebraska State Firmen’s Association.
The Nebraska State Firemen’s Association held its twenty-ninth annual convention at Alliance. Two hundred and forty delegates were present. Mayor F. W. Harris welcomed the firemen to the city’ A number of interesting papers were read and discussed. The reports of officers and various committees were read, and several amendments to the constitution were adopted. Considerable discussion occurred on the subject of having the benefits for firemen injured or disabled doing fire duty increased by the state legislature. The subject did not meet with the favor of the convention. The following officers were elected for 1911: President, J. H. Parker, Albion; first vicepresident, H. L. Boyes, Hebron; second vicepresident, W. S. Ridgell, Alliance: secretary, E. H. Millin, Kearney; treasurer, W. H. Winters, Norfolk ; board of control: Jacob Goehring, chairman, Seward; George Howe, Plemont; William P. McCune, Norfolk; Thomas E. Jefferies, North Platte; Bert J. Galley, Columbus; national delegate, J. C. Elliott, West Point. The next convention will be held at Kearney.
