NEW EQUIPMENT FOR AUGUSTA

Augusta, Ga.—The purchase of fire apparatus, consisting of an aerial ladder truck and six cylinder triple pump, the cost of which will amount to approximately $26,000, has been authorized by city council.

Council’s action followed a recommendation by the police and fire committee, and the statement of Councilman McGovern and Fire Chief Reynolds, that the city was badly in need of this equipment.

The trucks will be in Augusta ready for use in about three months, it is understood.
