New Fires Met While Responding to An Alarm
It has happened that a company responding to an alarm of fire, has met another blaze on its way. In a case of this kind, the company should stop and extinguish the new fire, or at least leave one or two firemen of the crew at the scene with sufficient connected hose to control it. They should then proceed with as little delay as possible to the original fire.
If the carburetor is provided with an auxiliary air valve it may be opened slightly to give it more air. If the engine speeds up it shows too rich a mixture and the high speed adjustment should be changed.
