New Light Portable Pump for Fire Protection
A new light portable fire pump, mounted on a two-wheel hand truck, has been designed to give fire protection to isolated communities, small towns or villages, and also to factories, lumber camps, mines, country estates or clubs. It is known as the Lome “Special” Fire Engine, and is equipped with a rotary geared pump of a capacity of 55 gals, per minute, 20 feet of 2-inch suction hose, and hose reel with capacity of 250 feet 1 1/2-inch cotton, rubber-lined hose. The pump is fitted with 1 1/2-inch outlets, with gate valves to control streams and a pressure relief valve. The wheels are 36 inches high, with either solid rubber or pneumatic tires. The entire outfit weighs, less hose, 650 pounds. The pump is made by Lome Tractors Limited, Tillsonburg, Ontario, Ca nada.
