The Portland, Ore., fire department has just placed in service its new Stutz 1,000-gallon triple combination car, shown in the accompanying illustration. The machine, carrying a complete equipment, is similar to that in service at Astoria, a neighboring city. Klamath Falls also has one on order.
The fire losses in New Jersey, according to the National Board of Fire Underwriters, amounted to $69,676,018 in five years ending with 1920.
