New York Permanent Firemen to Meet

Plans are going forward for a large attendance at the annual convention of the New York State Permanent Firemen’s Association, which is to take place in Auburn, N. Y., on September 10 and 11. It is expected that some 200 delegates will attend the convention. City Manager John P. Jaeckel and the members of the Auburn fire department are preparing to take care of these delegates.

The Stale Permanent Firemen’s Association has grown rapidly in the past couple of years. Increase of more than 200 members was made this year alone. The convention was held last year at Troy and Auburn was chosen for this year at that convention. One of the speakers at the convention will be William P. Capes, secretary of the New York State Conference of Mayors and Other City Officials. The program also calls for addresses by representatives of the National Board of Fire Underwriters and several other speakers. A program of entertainment has been arranged by the local committee. The festivities planned for the delegates call for a shore dinner, auto sightseeing tours and vaudeville entertainment.
