NEW YORK WATER REVENUE.
The report of the New York city department of water supply, gas and electricity for 1905, shows that the revenues of the department for that year amounted to $10,065,074. as against $8,998,225 in 1904. The receipts were from meter charges, the sale of water to steam craft, for streetsprinkling and other uses. Arrears of more than $1,000,000 were collected. The department is one of the few earning more than it costs for maintenance. The averaee daily consumption of water in Manhattan and The Bronx was 316,000,000 gals. Brooklyn used 119,234,968 gals, daily.
Two extra overhead suction-pipes are being installed at Madison, Ind.. from the waterworks to the reservoir.
