No. Carolina’s Fine Fire Prevention Record
Basing his assertion on data revealed at the recent convention of the Fire Marshals’ Association of North America held at Detroit, Stacey W. Wade. North Carolina commissioner of insurance has declared that that state is twenty-five years ahead of many other states of the union in the standard of fire protection. Not alone does North Carolina excel in the prevention of fire by natural causes but it is asserted that stringent measures are taken for the suppression on incendiary conflagrations, several cases having been prosecuted within the past year with success in finding the guilty parties and several cases now pending. As a result of these standards. North Carolina, it is claimed, has a lower insurance rate than most states. It is said that South Carolina has ordered an investigation as to why there is such a difference in the cases of the two states, and that the authorities in South Carolina have recommended the state following such standards as are now maintained in North Carolina.
