No Shortage at Canton
The city of Canton, O., passed through a very hot spell a short time ago without any shortage of water having been noticed. The efficient showing made by the department is attributed by Service Director McClaskey to the good management of the pumping station. Superintendent Ohliger says that in his opinion if it was necessary at any time this summer to put restrictions upon sprinkling it will be brought about by a wasteful use of the water. The superintendent says he rode about the city one evening recently and in many places saw the streets being flooded until the water ran down the gutters. He points out that this is in violation of the sprinkling privileges granted to users of city water.
