Norristown, Pa., Department Parades
On November 30 the annual inspection and parade of the volunteer fire department of Norristown, Pa., was held. In the parade three new pumpers and a ladder truck recently purchased by the borough council appeared for the first time and made an interesting comparison with the steam fire engine, which had been used for forty years and an old hand-drawn hose car. Several visiting companies were in the line of march, some of whom were the Hampden Fire Company of Reading, the Bridgeport Fire Company No. 1, and the Humane Company of Royersford. There was a delegation from the Liberty Fire Company of Reading, and Washington Fire Company of Conshohocken.
