NYC 911 Overhaul Temporarily Suspended

All work on the Emergency Communications Transformation Program, the troubled New York City 911 overhaul, has been suspended for 60 days.

The New York Daily News (http://nydn.us/Sbp9YR) reports that First Deputy Mayor Anthony Shorris in a letter also asked the Department of Investigation “to conduct an independent review of what transpired in recent years.” The overhaul is reportedly years behind schedule and more than $1 billion over budget.
