October Fire Losses
Estimated dollar losses caused by fires in the United States totaled $121,754,000 in October, the National Insurance Actuarial and Statistical Association reported.
This was an increase of 12 percent over $108,715,000 for October 1965 and an increase of 2.6 percent over $188,712,000 for September 1966.
Estimated fire losses were $1,238,916,000 for the first ten months of 1966, compared with $1,219,313,000 in the like ten months last year, an increase of 1.6 percent.
These losses include an allowance for uninsured and unreported losses.
