Ohio Community Reaches Out to Firefighters

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown firefighters want to thank the community for thanking them. Since the fire eight days ago that killed five children on the south side, they’ve seen community support like they’ve never seen before.

Classmates of Aleysha Rosario, the eldest of the children killed in the Parkcliffe Avenue fire, hand-delivered cards to every Youngstown fire station on Saturday.

Firefighter Tracey Wright, who was at the fire, read one of them as Union President Charlie Smith looked on. “Thank you so much for trying to save Aleysha from the harsh fire. We’re very thankful for you trying to save five children. We will pray for you and anyone else.”
