Oklahoma Firemen’s Association Convention

Oklahoma Firemen’s Association Convention

The Oklahoma State Firemen’s Association has published a souvenir program and directory for its 1920 state convention, which contains the names of the mayor, city clerk, chief and every member of each fire department in the Oklahoma association. The book has been compiled and published without a single bit of advertising space. The association deserves great credit in its enterprise in getting up such a program. The first session of the twenty-sixth annual convention, which takes place at McAlester, September 16 17-18, 1920, opens at 10 A. M. with the usual opening exercises, music, both vocal and instrumental, and the routine business. At 2 P. M., after the luncheon, there will be a trip to the state penitentiary; and at 8 P. M., a theatre party. On the second day, the morning session will consist of six topics on matters of interest to firemen and after the luncheon there will be an automobile ride, visiting local points of interest and ending at the Fair Grounds; in the evening, an entertainment at the Fair Grounds. The morning session of the third day will he devoted to business, reports of committees, election of officers, and so on; in the afternoon, at 2 P. M., an exhibition test will take place with prizes offered for tests in pompier ladder drill and hose reel races. At 5 P. M. there will be a barbecue and smoker with round table discussions; and 8 P. M., a grand ball.
