Old New York Fireboat Sunk by Storm

During a severe storm which did much damage along the New York and New Jersey water front on Monday of last week, the old fire boat David A. Boody, of the New York fire department. was sunk at the municipal dock at St. George, Staten Island, N. Y. The David A. Boody was built in 1892 and remained in active service until condemned two months ago as unfit for further service. The boat had been moored at the Thirty-eighth street pier in Brooklyn and Fire Commissioner Adamson then had it sent to St. George to make room for the new’ fire boat, William J. Gaynor, which replaced it in the service.
