Omaha Oil Storage Fire.
The informant of FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING says that at the fire of the storage plant of the Atlas Oil company, in Omaha, Neb., some time ago the entire 3-story wooden building filled with oil was ablaze all over when discovered. Eleven streams were brought into play, three from each of the extra size steamers and five from 6-in. three-way hydrants, which afforded water at gravity pressure of 105 lb. Not a length of the 6,550 ft. of the hose used burst. The hose was cotton rubber lined. The loss was over $35,000. The insurance on the building was $31,000 and on the contents $65,500.
