Paid Firemen of Wisconsin Meet
The Wisconsin State Paid Firemen’s Association met in convention at Manitowoc, Wis., on August 16 to 18. The association was represented by some one hundred delegates from 28 cities, who were welcomed by Mayor Georgenson in his address at the first morning’s session. In the address of President William Schultz, of Sheboygan, the history of the organization was reviewed and its growth during the past year shown. The president then announced the appointment of committees on resolutions, credentials and auditing. The memorial service was held on August 8, nine members of the association having died during the year, all of them with the exception of one member from natural causes.
The officers elected for the ensuing year were as follows: President, Captain William Schultz, Sheboygan; vice-president, B. Harris, Oconto; secretary, Ole Norman, Superior; treasurer, J. H. Kratz, Manitowoc.
On the evening of the 8th, the members of the convention were entertained by a concert and vaudeville performance and closed the evening with a dance at the Elks club house. On the evening of the 7th, an automobile tour to Two Rivers was given to the delegates.
