PAY THE CHIEF’S EXPENSES
As the time shortens between now and the time of the annual convention of the International Association of Fire Engineers in Kansas City on June 24 to 27, those cities and towns which have not made arrangements to send their chiefs of fire departments as the official representatives of their city government at this important meeting should at once take the matter up. There can be no argument in the matter as to the advantages that the head of the department would receive and bring back to the members under his command—this is a foregone conclusion and a proved fact. So, bearing this in mind, the mayor, council, commissioners, or other officials having the welfare of their fire department in charge, should hesitate not a day longer, but make the necessary arrangements with Secretary James McFall to have the chief represent them, and secure proper accommodations for him in the hotels of the Western city, before they are all taken up. There will no doubt be a very large attendance at this convention—probably larger than at any other in the history of the organization, so do not delay. SEND THE CHIEF.
