Pension Rules in Kansas City
At Kansas City, Mo., firemen permanently disabled while on duty will receive a pension of $65 per month if in the service of the city for less than two years when the injury occurs, under amendments to pension fund rules adopted by trustees. The old rules provided that a fireman must have served at least two years before being entitled to any pension benefits in case of injury. The $65 per month is the same as that received by a fireman retiring after twenty-five years of service. Trustees also fixed the pension of fire wardens at $85 per month. The scale for wardens was formerly based upon the rank that the warden held at the time he was promoted.
