John W. Norman III retired from the Fire Department of New York as a deputy assistant chief. His fire service career spans more than 40 years, much of it in special operations. He has written several books and presents on a variety of fire-related topics.
Alan Brunacini joined the Phoenix (AZ) Fire Department in 1958 and retired as chief in 2006. He has a degree in fire protection from Oklahoma State University and a BS and a master’s degree in public administration from Arizona State University. He is the author of Fire Command, Command Safety, Essentials of Fire Department Customer Service, The Anatomy and Physiology of Leadership, Timeless Tactical Truths, and No-Brainer Management.
