Philadelphia Officials Talk About Burned Firefighter Transfers

Philadelphia (PA) officials responded Thursday to firefighters who claimed they were transferred to other fire stations after being burned on the job.

Firefighters told FOX 29 news (http://bit.ly/wCiSPI) they suspect the transfers are a way of discouraging other firefighters from coming forward with injuries.

The report says that, since July, six firefighters who suffered facial burns have been transferred to other stations.

Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said the firefighters were transferred because they were not using their personal protective gear properly.
