PROMOTIONS IN CHICAGO
Chicago, Ill.—Battalion Chiefs Michael J. Corrigan and John Smith were promoted to be assistant fire marshals by an order issued recently by Fire Chief Thomas O’Connor. The new positions were created by the 1921 budget. Corrigan won the Lambert Tree bravery medal in 1918 for snatching a lighted bomb from the floor of the Auditorium theatre during an opera performance and hurling it to the street.
Chief O’Connor’s order promotes Capts. George Graves and Edward Laubly to the grade of battalion chief and Lieuts. Charles Burke and William Goebig to captaincies.
